Many employers find themselves in unfamiliar territory when employees become ill or injured on or off the job. Many employers find themselves unprepared or uninformed of this costly and sometimes complicated reality of business. Disability costs and insurance premiums are on the rise. Recent court decisions regarding employer's duty to accommodate disabled employees are costing many companies additional dollars. Our team of professionals can even assist if an employee is deemed unable to return to their previous occupation. We have a team of Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists who assist individuals, determine their transferable skills and aptitudes for alternative occupations, either in the company or outside.

The Program

In providing a comprehensive disability management program ORGOC will:
  • Provide training for all employees, managers/supervisors and union representatives
  • Develop and distribute promotional material providing information on process and responsibilities
  • File all occupational related injury claims
  • Assist employees in accessing medical and rehabilitative services if and when required
  • Provide support and education to employees regarding returning to work
  • Obtain all pertinent medical and functional information required, while respecting individual privacy (see our privacy policy)
  • Develop a data base of all positions and physical demands of each position in any company
  • Develop an individualized, multidisciplinary return to work plan utilizing accommodated or modified duties.
  • Monitor all return to work programs so as to prevent relapse or prolonged accommodations
  • Monitor employees once returned to full duties to assist in the prevention of relapse
  • Assist employees obtain necessary documentation and complete forms necessary for any disability benefits in order to provide continuity of income and rehabilitation when required
  • Work with disability insurers to provide continuity of service and accountability for return to work provisions during any period of disability benefits.
